ABOUT ME
Currently based in Westley, Bury St Edmunds, I qualified from Anglia Ruskin University as a music therapist in 2017. Prior to that I had worked for many years as a piano teacher and classroom music teacher. I have experience of working with nursery and school age children with emotional/behavioural difficulties and additional learning needs. I have also worked with adults with a wide range of conditions, including; Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Stroke survivors and adults with acquired and traumatic brain injury. I have an up to date DBS certificate.
When working 1:1, my work is driven very much by the therapeutic relationship and I work towards goals as the client's needs unfold within the assessment period and on an ongoing basis. I am a qualified neurologic music therapist and enjoy using neurologic music therapy techniques. My initial training was psychodynamically informed.
I also have experience of running therapy groups and choirs within a range of settings.
I am passionate about the impact that working with music can have on a wide range of clients with differing conditions.
